Our hiring process may look slightly different depending on the role, but we work to keep things clear and efficient. Once we receive your application, we begin reviewing it right away. If your experience and skills match the position, we’ll contact you to schedule an interview either in person or online. Additional steps, such as further interviews or a trial day, may follow depending on the role. Throughout the process, we aim to be transparent and respectful of your time.
For teaching roles, we look for relevant educational degrees, qualified teacher status and certifications, as well as proficiency in English and/or German, depending on the role. IB teaching experience is a plus for any teaching role at our school. Full details for each position can be found in the individual job posting.
CIS Primary School operates bilingually, with instruction in both English and German. In the Secondary School, English is the primary language of instruction, while German is taught as a core subject. Specific language requirements for staff vary by role and are outlined in each job description. The company language is English.
You can discover CIS’s educational philosophy, programs, and values right here on our website by navigating through the menu button above. There you’ll find detailed information about our curriculum, school life, and community.
While prior experience in international education, particularly with the IB Curriculum, or in bilingual settings is an advantage, it is not always a requirement. At CIS, we value open-minded and well-qualified professionals who are enthusiastic about contributing to a diverse, innovative learning environment.
CIS offers a tuition fee reduction for employees’ children.
In accordance with German tax law, this benefit is considered a ‘Geldwerter Vorteil’ (benefit in kind). The financial value of the tuition reduction is legally added to your gross salary, and taxes are calculated accordingly. This is a standard procedure in Germany for such non-cash benefits. Further information is available during the interview process.
We welcome qualified teachers of all nationalities. To work in Germany, a valid work visa is essential. We will assist in applying for visas when required. This can be a standard Residence Permit, the EU Blue Card for highly-qualified professionals, or the new Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card) for job seekers.
